The Quest 3 features the highest resolution display and pancake optics to date, driven by a state-of-the-art Snapdragon chipset. The new chipset, developed in partnership with Qualcomm, is expected to deliver twice the graphical performance of the previous Snapdragon GPU in the Quest 2.

With the innovative Meta Reality technology, the virtual world and the physical world can be fused seamlessly, paving the way for a natural and intuitive experience that was nearly unattainable before, according to Meta.

The Quest 3 boasts a 40% thinner optic profile compared to its predecessor, the Quest 2. In addition, the Touch Plus controllers have been revamped for a more ergonomic and streamlined design.

Meta’s advancements in tracking technology led to the removal of outer tracking rings, making the controllers feel more like a natural extension of the user’s hands and reducing their space requirement. The TruTouch haptics feature, initially introduced in Touch Pro, is also incorporated.

For a premium experience, users can choose fully self-tracked Meta Quest Touch Pro Controllers. With Direct Touch, hand tracking is included as standard, allowing users to interact with virtual objects using their bare hands.

The Quest 3 is compatible with the Quest 2’s catalog of over 500 VR games, apps, and experiences, with even more VR and MR titles expected at launch.

Pricing and Availability

The Meta Quest 3 will be available for purchase starting this fall at a price of US$ 499.99 (approximately Rs. 41,160). More details will be unveiled at the Meta Connect event on September 27th.

Price Reduction for Meta Quest 2

The Meta Quest 2, initially priced at US$ 299.99 (approximately Rs. 24,700) for the 128GB variant, is returning to its original price following a $100 price increase. The 256GB version will now cost $349.99 (approximately Rs. 28,815). The revised pricing for Quest 2 will come into effect from June 4th.
