Moto G5 Plus by Lenovo has finally launched after the unveil at MWC 2017. But the G5 Plus seems to be overpriced; here we are going to compare the phone with previously launched Huawei Honor 6X which comes with the similar specs and find out which once actually worth buying.

Honor 6X has the most amazing at its price range. When Honor 6X is available in the market to purchase for Rs 12,999 ($249.99), the Moto G5 Plus starts from Rs 14,999, and the higher variant costs Rs 16,999.

Motorola official said that the Moto G5 Plus is the great phone in its price range, but we’ll find it here. Before moving to the comparison between Moto G5 Plus and Honor 6X let me tell you that I truly believe a phone with 3GB RAM, 16GB storage, Snapdragon 625 with a 12MP dual camera must not cost Rs 14,999 at all.

Moto G5 Plus vs Honor 6X: Full comparison

Both the phone comes with very similar specs and features, so we choose to write an article on Moto G5 Plus vs Honor 6X. Honor 6X does have a dual camera so do Moto G5 Plus. Below you’ll find the full comparison between these two phones.

Camera Comparison

Well, camera quality is one of the most attractive features of these two phones.

Moto G5 Plus: G5 Plus has a dual autofocus pixel camera at the back of the device with the resolution of 12MP. The rear camera of the phone can capture excellent picture, and the low-light image capture capacity of the camera is incredible. Below I have also added some samples of Moto G5 Plus primary camera. As well as the main camera, the front-facing camera of G5 plus also seems to be moderated with a 5MP camera.

Honor 6X: When we come to the Huawei Honor 6X’s camera, it has the same dual-camera setup. Honor 6X has the 12MP + 2MP rear camera with LED flashlight, autofocus, and other necessary features. The 2MP sensor at the back helps with focusing the area to get the best possible click. Check the sample of Honor 6X primary camera below. The phone also comes with an amazing front-facing camera of 8MP which can shoot videos at 1080p.

Who wins?

Well, it is very tough to choose which one has the best camera. Both Honor 6X and G5 Plus’s camera quality are amazing. When we come to the primary camera shots, Moto G5 Plus performs better in comparison to the 6X’s camera. Of course in low-light, G5 Plus’s camera wins the battle without even using the flashlight.

But when we compare the front-facing camera of the phones, Honor 6X’s front-facing camera performs a lot better than the G5 Plus’s camera.

This means that, if you love to click photos using the primary camera and want the best quality pic, go for G5 Plus. Honor 6X doesn’t click that much worst pic at all; its main camera is quite powerful (almost similar to G5 Plus) and can shoot amazing images. If you want a great selfie camera phone with also a great primary camera, go for Honor 6X. Well, that’s only in comparison to camera quality. Let’s check the other features of the phone and compare them.

Display Comparison

The display is everything, without the screen what you are going to do with the phone.😁 Let’s find out which device has the best display in comparison to each other.

Moto G5 Plus: G5 Plus comes with a 5.2-inch full HD IPS capacitive touchscreen and the resolution of the display id 1080×1920 pixels. The display of the phone is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which doesn’t seem to be that much stronger[1] in comparison to me. The size of the phone seems comfortable to hold, and the screen is sharp with ~424 PPI pixel density.

Honor 6X: Huawei Honor 6X comes with a 5.5-inch full HD IPS capacitive touch screen with 1080x1920p resolution. The PPI of the display is ~403 pixels which are good enough to make the screen amazing.

Who wins?

Same explanation as for the previous one. If you are a person who loves small size phone, Moto G5 Plus is there for you, and if you love a bigger screen phone, 6X is perfect for you. Also, let me tell you that G5 Plus comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection but the Hono 6X’s screen is open and there is no protection available for the display. You can also choose G5 Plus for the safety reason, but for me, Gorilla Glass 3 have not worked well.

Storage & RAM Comparison

Both smartphones are available in two variant. Let’s have a look at the storage capacity and RAM of the devices.

Moto G5 Plus: G5 Plus comes with 3GB and 4GB RAM variant with 16GB and 32GB internal storage capacity respectively. The phone also does support microSD cards, up to 256GB.

Honor 6X: 6X is available in two variant, one with 3GB RAM having 32GB internal storage capacity and the another one have a 4GB of RAM with 64GB built-in storage capacity which is also expandable up to 256GB with the help of microSD cards.

Who wins?

In this case, I’ll choose Honor 6X. Moto G5 Plus comes with a great amount of RAM, but if you go for the 3GB RAM variant of the phone, you’ll surely need to purchase a microSD card. Which will make your cost Rs 14,999+1,000 just for the 3GB RAM variant. Honor 6X comes with a decent amount of RAM and storage also; its 3GB RAM variant comes with 32GB storage capacity which is fair.

Processor Comparison

The processor is everything of a device; better processor means more power and smooth experience.

Moto G5 Plus: G5 Plus is powered by a 2.0GHz Octa-core Cortex-A53 Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 635 processor with Adreno 506. The phone comes out of the box with Android 7.0 Nougat with Google Assistant also.

Honor 6X: HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor powers 6x with 4×2.1GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.7GHz Cortex-A53 Octa-core. The phone also comes with a Mali-T830MP2 processor.

Who wins?

This is simple, Qualcomm Snapdragon can go with Moto G5 Plus and if you need something different, choose Honor 6X. The performance of the both device is fantastic and because of that Moto G5 Plus vs Honor 6X battle becomes tougher.

Battery Comparison

Let’s compare the battery power of the phones.

Moto G5 Plus: G5 Plus comes with a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with turbocharging features. The phones give up to 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.

Honor 6X: 6X comes with a 3340mAh non-removable battery.

Who wins?

G5 Plus has an amazing battery of 3000mAh which is also non-removable. The main attraction of G5 Plus’s battery is the turbocharging feature, the phone gives up to 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charge. In comparison to the Moto’s battery 6X doesn’t have any fast charging or turbocharging feature, it comes with w 3340mAh non-removable battery which gives up to 23 hours of talk time (3G).

My Choice: Moto G5 Plus vs Honor 6X

I have been using Moto and Honor phones, and both are great, so it is very hard for me to choose the best among them. I know that most of the people are waiting for the Moto G5 Plus vs Honor 6X result, but the choice clearly depends upon you. I do personally believe that the Moto G5 Plus is slightly overpriced, but if you can afford to spend money on an overpriced phone, Moto G5 Plus is waiting for you.

When we talk about the price of Honor 6X, it is affordable and it worth everything. The highest variant of the phone with the highest performance doesn’t cost much as G5 Plus’s 3Gb variant.

If you offered me to choose between the phones, I would go with the Honor 6X. Also, I will consider buying the Moto G5 Plus’s 4GB RAM variant if they give a price cut. Instead of giving shit offers with the phone they should cut the price a little bit.

No doubt that I’m a great Moto fan, but this time I won’t go for Moto G5 Plus and love to end the Moto G5 Plus vs Honor 6X battle by choosing Honor 6X as the winner. If you want to add anything to the comparison, feel free to leave a comment below, do rate the post and share it with your friends.
